Ahead of the release of his upcoming film, ‘Tu Jhoothi main Makkaar’, Luv Ranjan opened up about why his action-drama film with Ajay Devgn and Ranbir Kapoor was shelved.
Luv revealed that he wanted to do an action film with Ranbir because he thought it would be a great idea to see him do one. The filmmaker also added that the film wasn't just an action film. It was an action drama. The idea was to do a Salim-Javed kind of dialogue oriented film. However, he added that it didn't work out because of dates.
Elaborating further, the director told Pinkvilla that around that time, they randomly discussed ‘Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar’. They had discussed many ideas. When they figured out that the action-drama with Ajay Devgn and Ranbir Kapoor could not happen because of dates, he just happened to ask Ranbir if they could do ‘Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar’ and the actor agreed.
Ranbir will be sharing the screen space with Shraddha Kapoor for the first time in ‘Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar’. The film will also feature producer Boney Kapoor in a full-fledged role along with Dimple Kapadia. It is slated to hit the theatres on March 8, 2023.
