Luton Town injury update as Chris Cohen sends Nottingham Forest warning

Luton Town coach and former Nottingham Forest man Chris Cohen has given the latest injury update and sent a warning to his Luton Town players ahead of the Championship clash against the Reds.

Forest host Luton at the City Ground tonight as they look to climb the table further following Friday night’s 1-1 draw with Derby County.

Ahead of the match, Cohen has confirmed that the Hatters will definitely be without central defender Tom Lockyer, while his defensive partner and club captain Sonny Bradley is also a major doubt for the match.

“No, Tom’s not fit for tomorrow, so he’s one that’s going to miss out,” Cohen told LutonToday .

"He’s getting better every day and he did brilliantly when he was playing, it would be great to have him back as another option at centre half.”

Despite the doubt over captain Bradley, Cohen says that Luton have enough options to be able to deal with his absence.

“We’ve got Pottsy (Dan Potts), Martin Cranie, Matty Pearson, so if Sonny isn’t to make it, we’ve got real good options and a wealth of experience back there,” he added.

“Yes we’ve got problems, but over the course of the season, our physios and medical department have done brilliant to keep as many people fit as they have in one of the strangest seasons we’ll ever have in terms of number of games and time to fit them all in.”

Cohen is also aware of the challenges faced by the Hatters’ team in the trip to the City Ground.

"We’ve watched a load of Nottingham Forest games already, we understand it will be a tough place to go, but we have to set up right and throughout the whole season when we've set up in the right shape, when the boys have implemented the plan and when we’ve had a little bit of luck that you always need, we’ve been very, very good,” he said.

"Now we can't afford to get any of those bits wrong, as we’re going to teams like Nottingham Forest that have players that can hurt you, but we’ll always put a team out, the right team for the right game and that will be exactly the same.”

There are just two positions and one point between Forest and Luton in the table, with a win taking Chris Hughton’s men above Luton in the league.
