Luton Town boss issues transfer and injury update ahead of Nottingham Forest clash

Luton Town boss Graeme Jones is optimistic about his side's chances of signing some new players before this weekend's Championship clash with Nottingham Forest.

Jones watched his side slip to a 2-1 home defeat to Birmingham City last time out, a result that leaves the Hatters still bottom of the League.

But only four points separate 24th from Stoke City in 21st ahead of the visit to Sabri Lamouchi's side on Sunday (12pm).

Their opponents are working on transfers, .

Luton, who took League One by storm last season, haven't won since a 2-1 defeat of Wigan Athletic in early December.

They've drawn just once since then, losing seven matches.

And Jones, who hopes to welcome back a trio of players ahead of Forest , is hopeful that his side will get some deals done in the near future.

“I’m optimistic as that’s the kind of person I am," he told Dunstable Today.

“Next week there’s another opportunity to win three points, at the minute we’re struggling, we need some help.

“Izzy’s (Brown) close, he should train this week, Martin Cranie is close this week, it was good to get Dan (Potts) back for 45 minutes, even though he’s only trained three days.

“We needed to get him on the pitch and hopefully we’ll get some additions next week too.”
