Luss boxing star Hannah Rankin has said that she is relishing the pressure of being the favourite as she returns to the ring against South African Kholosa Ndobayini today (March 12).
Hannah flew out to South Africa last week for the bout, her first since losing to Savannah Marshall in October, and first since dropping to the welterweight division.
And the 30-year-old is looking forward the challenge she’ll face in Cape Town.
She told the Lennox: “I relish the pressure. Everyone knows me. I never take the easy option and I thrive under pressure,. It’s good. She’ll want to make a statement because of my previous accolades that’ll look good for her.
“I hope she does. I hope she wants to come and have a real good fight because that will make it exciting for the fans and that’s what I enjoy. I enjoy the challenge in the ring. The pressure is on me going to her country.”

And for boxing fans unfamiliar with Ndobayini, Hannah explained that she will prove a tough competitor – with Hannah hopeful that plenty of supporters from back home will tune in to watch her in action. She continued: “I’m expecting Kholosa to bring it. She’s a two time, two weight South African champion.
“I’m coming to her country so I’m sure that she’ll be wanting to make a statement and bring it into the ring.
“It’ll be a great show for everybody and I’m excited for it.
“I’m the co-main event so it’s great for women’s boxing. It should be really exciting to watch.”
The full card is available on webtickets.co.za/v2/event.aspx?itemid=1505513503 - and it is priced at £7.45. Hannah's bout is scheduled to start around 6pm GMT.
