Lusk locals disgust as community defibrillator vandalised by careless thugs

Locals in a north Dublin village have been left disgusted after a community defibrillator was damaged by vandals.

The potentially life-saving device at the Lusk cottage community centre had its plastic smashed, leaving it open to the weather.

A picture of the damage has been circulated on social media, and residents of the area have expressed their outrage at the damage.

One local said: "People with too much time on their hands and not enough respect for anyone nor anyone else's property, nor for the people who might need those defibrillators to save their lives."

While another added: "What if one of their family needs the defibrillator in an emergency? Just saying."

Calls were also made for the community to try and figure out a solution ahead of Rush garda station re-opening later this month.

While another added: "As a community what is our solution ? Rush Gardai [station] is re-opening by the end of September. Cameras would be beneficial. Vigilant of our community."
