Lush's Liverpool store to reopen with major changes for shoppers

Lush has confirmed plans to reopen its Liverpool city centre store next week with a number of changes in place.

Like many high street stores, Lush has remained closed since March to prevent further spread of coronavirus.

However since given the go-ahead to reopen by the Government, the retailer has made a number of changes to ensure customers are safe to shop.

Lush's Liverpool store, based on Church Street, is one of the biggest in the world for the retailer and it will reopen on Monday, June 15.

Once reopened, the store will follow social distancing rules set by the Government which means a number of changes to ensure all customers are able to keep a two metre distance.

Like many supermarkets, Lush will operate a customer limit at its stores meaning some shoppers may be asked to wait outside until it is their turn inside.

However, unlike other stores, Lush will offer those queuing the chance to order what they want so orders can be ready and bagged when the customers enter the shop. This aims to limit the amount of time the customer has to spend inside.

Lush's spa and hair salon will remain closed and there will be no product testers on display.

We've rounded-up the full list of changes below:

- Customers will be invited to wash their hands as soon as they arrive in store with their own piece of soap peel

- Till points will be two metres apart and be installed with perspex screens.

- Signage will be on display at the front of each shop to explain the new procedures

- Kiosk purchasing at the front door may be set up in a number of shops if they are more comfortable with this to begin with, avoiding the need for customers to enter the shop at all

- Spa and hair lab bookings will be suspended

- No cash will be accepted with all customers asked to pay by card

- Customer limits will be in place
