Lurgan crash leaves five-year-old girl on bike with broken bones

A five-year-old girl who was riding her bike has broken her elbow and leg after a crash involving a car.

Police are appealing for witnesses following the collision in Lurgan on Tuesday, April 13.

PSNI Sergeant Meaney said: “Police received a report that a collision had taken place between a silver VW Golf and a bicycle in Dill Avenue some time between 6.10pm and 6.20pm.

“A five-year-old girl, who had been riding the bicycle, sustained a broken elbow and a broken leg in the collision, and was subsequently taken to hospital for treatment.

“Police are appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time and may have witnessed the incident, or has dash-cam footage, to contact them on 101 quoting reference number 1486 of 13/04/21, or submit a report online using the non-emergency reporting form via http://www.psni.police.uk/makeareport/.”

Meanwhile, a 21-year-old man has been shot in a "paramilitary style assault" in West Belfast.

The incident happened at Summerhill Road in Dunmurry on Wednesday night, April 14, just after 10.25pm.

Police say the man was shot in the lower leg and has been taken to hospital for treatment.
