Lupita Nyong’o is apparently a Game of Thrones fan, and seems to have found a number of similarities between the HBO show and her own movie, Us.
Turns out there are some legitimate similarities between the terrifying doppelgangers known as "the Tethered", and the White Walkers.
Nyong’o compared and contrasted the two different kinds of villains in a Twitter thread that has since gone viral.
Here’s what she came up with in terms of their similarities:
- They come in silence but not in peace
- They won’t stop until they kill errrrrrrrrybody
- They wear block colors
- They have a signature weapon
- Their death stare does half the job
- Their leaders could use some edge tamer
- They could all use a drink of water and better dietary options
She also noted the differences:
- #TheTethered don’t send out Save-The-Dates — they make surprise visits
- #TheTethered: About that fire
- #WhiteWalkers: About that ice
- #TheTethered: friends of PETA
- #WhiteWalkers: not so much
Other Game of Thrones fans are reeling from what took place in episode 3. For some, the biggest talking point is the favourite characters they were forced to say goodbye to after the epic battle.
For others, it was the latest, huge moment for Arya's character arc, and how it was foreshadowed by both Syrio Forel and Melisandre in earlier seasons. Many were disgruntled by the fact that the episode was so dark it was difficult to see what was happening during the most intense battle sequences.
