Lupin, Netflix’s hit French mystery series, will get more episodes.
The streaming platform announced on Thursday that the show will return in summer 2021 for part two of season one.
Lupin, which stars Omar Sy as lead character Assane Diop, first aired on Netflix on 8 January with five episodes.
The series has been a worldwide success, climbing to the top of Netflix’s top 10 ranking in more than 10 countries, according to the streamer.
Five more episodes will follow, to be directed by Ludovic Bernard (The Climb) and Hugo Gélin (Love at second sight).
Netflix has unveiled a poster teasing Lupin’s new episodes, featuring Sy and mentioning the summer 2021 release date.
Created by George Kay and François Uzan, Lupin is loosely based on the stories of Arsène Lupin, a fictional gentleman thief invented in the 20th century by French novelist Maurice Leblanc.
Lupin is one of two French series which have recently found success on Netflix. Call My Agent!, set at a fictional talent agency in Paris, has also earned praise internationally.
