It had been a three week wait for competitive action.
But Luncarty returned in style on Saturday afternoon to net a confidence-boosting 4-2 Conference B win away at Lochgelly Albert.
The Bleachers picked-up the East of Scotland League victory in Fife thanks to a Scott Sutherland double and goals from Ben Scarborough and Craig Mitchell.
Speaking yesterday, manager Robbie Holden told the PA: “I thought we controlled the game well considering we hadn’t played for three weeks.
“There were a lot of positives to come out of the game, such as getting Stu Nicol on the park for half an hour after three months out.
“We scored some good goals but I still feel we could have had a few more. That said, the quality of all four goals was excellent, with Ben’s the pick of the bunch.”
Luncarty sit seventh in the Conference B standings but have games in hand on a number of their league rivals.
Holden added: “It was important to get three points and to score four will hopefully give the players a lift.
“After we exited two cups, to have to wait three weeks to put it right was not ideal but hopefully it can set us up for some consistency now.”
Kinnoull were scheduled to host Easthouses Lily at Tulloch Park but low overnight and morning temperatures resulted in a postponement.
It was the same in the Premier Division where Jeanfield Swifts’ fixture at the Riverside with leaders Penicuik Athletic was called off.
