Luncarty prepared for Preston Athletic reaction, says boss Robbie Holden

Luncarty boss Robbie Holden is expecting a Preston Athletic backlash this weekend – but will have his players prepared.

The visitors to Brownlands Park were defeated 5-0 and had three men sent off in their league opener against Kinnoull last week.

Holden reckons they will be wanting to make amends for that in Perthshire.

“I think Preston will look to give a reaction,” said Holden. “They had three red cards last week and that will undoubtedly have impacted the scoreline.

“I expect them to be strong this weekend and we will be very wary of the backlash.”

Luncarty, on the other hand, head into their first ever East of Scotland League Conference B home game with a spring in their step.

The Bleachers, who should welcome back defender Danny Dobie, defeated Peebles Rovers 9-2 last Saturday.

Holden has highlighted the importance of home form this season.

He said: “We’ve had no injury concerns after the Peebles game and I’ll almost have a full squad available.

“It’s great to get our first home game. It’s unfortunate that we can’t get any supporters in, it does take some shine off it.

“But we will look to make our home ground a difficult place for our opponents to visit.”
