Luncarty on fire again as Bleachers take scoring total to 17 in last two matches

Luncarty turned in another “ruthless” display to thump Easthouses Lily 8-1 in the Conference B on Saturday.

Scott Mollison got the ball rolling early doors before Craig Mitchell, Lewis Mackie, Sean Fergus and Olly Hamilton ensured the Bleachers had a comfortable five-goal lead at the interval.

Hamilton resumed the scoring on 65 minutes with his second of the game, quickly followed by one from Kev Sinclair. Kyle Green added an eighth and then the visitors claimed a consolation.

Luncarty have now, impressively, scored 17 goals in their last two games and manager Robbie Holden said: “It was great to follow up last week’s performance with another ruthless one.

“The difference when getting an early goal and not chasing games late on has been apparent in the last two weeks and it settled us early.

“We have players back and competition to play. We didn’t have that for a variety of reasons over a couple of months but we have good numbers available just now.

“I think the confidence has also increased, we have been sharp in training and taking that into the games and the front players are clicking at the minute. Long may that continue.”

Luncarty’s win moved them up to sixth in the Conference B standings and Holden is urging his players to build on the last couple of weeks.

“We know what these players are capable of,” he said. “There’s a bit of frustration that we haven’t got to our levels for one reason or another in the last couple of months.

“It’s vital now that the players keep the standards they have been at lately and see where it gets us in the table.”

Kinnoull’s trip to Lochore Welfare was called off.
