Lulu joins Ariana Grande and Years and Years on Manchester Pride line-up

Manchester Pride has added iconic singer Lulu to the line-up of this year's LGBT+ festival.

Taking place across the August bank holiday weekend, the festival will spread across its spiritual home in the Gay Village as well as spilling out to Mayfield Depot for the first time.

While most of the big headliners - Ariana Grande, Years and Years, Emili Sande - will be at Depot, Lulu will be performing at the Gay Village Party on the Saturday night.

Tickets for the Gay Village Party cost just £11 per day, or £16.50 for the full weekend - a far cry from the £64.50 weekend price for Manchester Pride Live.

It's been 55 years since the Scottish singer released her smash hit debut single Shout, aged just 15 years old.

She'll be joining the Danny Beard and Friends extravaganza at Sackville Gardens, alongside Seann Miley Moore and Rhythm of the 90s.

Also performing around the Gay Village over the four-day event will be Liberty X, Proms in the Park, and Sara Aalto.

The Queer Music Stage elsewhere in the village will have a line-up created by Manchester Pride's year-round culture programme Superbia, running between 2pm and 11pm on Sunday, August 25.

The car park that previously hosted the main stage will this year be transformed into the Sackville Square Fair, with food and drink traders, a makers market and DJs playing all weekend, plus fairground rides.
