Lulu fans shocked at Belgian Eurovision singer's striking resemblance to Scots star

Eurovision fans couldn't believe their eyes as Scots singer Lulu appeared to take centre stage and represent Belgium.

The annual song contest held it's semi final on our screens tonight and fans looked on in wonder as a seemingly familiar face took to the stage.

Glasgow born Lulu was a Eurovision contestant in 1969 and ended up winning the competition with her rendition of Boom Bang-a-Bang along with winners from Spain, Netherlands and France in a tie breaker.

For the 2021 song contest the singer was believed to be at home in London, but her doppelganger took to the stage in the form of Belgian contestant Geike Arnaert and her band Hooverphonic.

She looked very like our own Shout singer Marie McDonald McLaughlin Lawrie, sharing a similar hairstyle and dressed in sixties style boots.

Fans couldn't believe their eyes as they excitedly asked: "Was that Lulu singing for Belgium?

Another said: "Gawn yersel Lulu, representing Belgium at #Eurovision!"

And someone else said: "Belgium doing its bit for future Scottish-EU relations by inviting Lulu to perform their song."

Another joked: "Nice of belgium to give lulu another shot #Eurovision "

A fifth explained: "Lulu after s**tloads of her QVC Time Bomb for Belgium. #Eurovision "
