Lulu, 70, asks why nobody gave 'this old bird' a seat on the Tube

Scots singer Lulu has may be pop royalty but the "old bird" still has to stand on the tube like all the rest of us.

The Glaswegian songstress is now 70 but, as you'd expect from Take That 's special guest act, she manages to keep herself in great nick.

Which is just as well, as she joked with her fans that no one had offered her a seat "on her way to work".

The singer, who had hits with To Sir With Love and Shout, shared a pic with her followers on Instagram as she travelled on the London underground to perform at the O2 arena on Tuesday.

She joked: ‘On the way to work at the O2 London tonight...and nobody gave this old bird a seat on the tube #oap.’

Rod Stewart's wealth grows by £10m in a year - but one Scots star is still richer

Fans on the social media platform flocked to her defence.

One user, scherezaderomero, said: "Maybe because you look like a teenager!"

Another, susantquigley, said: "That’s cause you look so young it’s those fab Scottish genes."

Lulu has joined Take That on tour where every night they reunite to perform their Number 1 smash hit Relight My Fire together.

Her ‘On Fire’ tour will see the Grammy-nominated singer play 35-dates across the UK in the autumn, celebrating 55 years since the release of the debut smash hit single Shout.
