Luke Williams provides injury update on Sam Austin and Aden Baldwin following Aldershot absence

Notts County boss Luke Williams has revealed both Aden Baldwin and Sam Austin picked up injuries in training earlier this week but is hopeful the pair will return to the matchday squad soon.

The Magpies boss made one change to the side that beat Dagenham & Redbridge ten days ago, with Geraldo Bajrami replacing Baldwin in defence while there were places on the bench for new signing Quevin Castro and the returning Connell Rawlinson.

Notts extended their unbeaten run to eight games in the National League this season, as second half goals from Cedwyn Scott and Macaulay Langstaff sealed a 2-0 victory over Aldershot at Meadow Lane.

Rawlinson was thrown into the action in the second half as Richard Brindley was forced off due to injury, but Williams explained it was nothing too serious and will wait for the assessment from the medical team.

"Yeah, Richard slipped just in front of us in the dugout and I am not an expert, but something went into spasm, and he tried to keep going, but eventually it became too painful and started to restrict his movement," Williams said.

"He is a warrior and wanted to play on, but we have to wait for it to calm down and see how severe it is."

Both Baldwin and Austin were notable absentees from the matchday squad, with nothing from the pre-Aldershot press conference suggesting an omission from the matchday squad this evening was coming.

"Yeah, unfortunately Aden picked up an injury in training, and so did Sam," explained Williams.

"We think we are on top of both of the injuries and we hope we can get them back sooner rather than later, but it is a bit early to tell exactly when."
