Although the biggest names in the sports media are openly talking about the likelihood of former Cavs head coach Ty Lue potentially taking his job, Luke Walton still expects to lead the Lakers next season.
When Walton was asked about his job status beyond the end of the season, he told The Athletic’s Bill Oram that he expects to return to the head of the Lakers bench next October.
“I fully expect to be coaching this team again next year,” he told The Athletic on Tuesday night.
The Lakers need to win three more games to eclipse last year’s win total of 35. Prior to this season, the Lakers had made improvements of nine wins in each of the previous two seasons under Walton.
