Luke Walton’s job is reportedly safe after loss at Hawks

Among the several things Luke Walton could worry about over the coming week, his job is not one of them.

Despite last night’s disappointing loss to the Atlanta Hawks and over a week away, the Lakers are in no rush to make any big changes to the bench. Brad Turner of the Los Angeles Times reports that Walton’s job is safe.

Turner quoted someone familiar with the matter.

“Nothing is going to happen with Luke,” that person said. “There hasn’t even been any talk about it and there won’t be any talks about it. Luke will definitely finish the season and he has the full support. So any talk in the media or on social media can be put to bed about Luke. He’s not going anywhere. There has been no conversation about it.”

So, there you have it. Walton will be back on the Lakers bench when the Lakers return from the All-Star break next Thursday against James Harden and the Rockets.
