Luke Shaw England snub: Man United's Player of the Year misses out on Uefa Nations League squad

Luke Shaw has missed out on England's Uefa Nations League squad despite winning Manchester United's Player of the Year award.

Shaw, 23, was voted as United's best player of the season by his team-mates, but will not be representing England at this summer's Nations League Finals.

Gareth Southgate has instead opted for Tottenham's Danny Rose and Leicester City's Ben Chilwell at left-back, with the Three Lions to face Netherlands in the semi-finals on June 6 before a potential final against either Portugal or Switzerland on June 9.

When asked whether leaving Shaw out was a difficult choice, Southgate told reporters: "No. I think Ben Chilwell and Danny Rose have been excellent. At the moment they are ahead."

Full squad: Jack Butland, Tom Heaton, Jordan Pickford, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Ben Chilwell, Joe Gomez, Michael Keane, Harry Maguire, Danny Rose, John Stones, Kieran Trippier, Kyle Walker, Ross Barkley, Dele Alli, Fabian Delph, Eric Dier, Jordan Henderson, Declan Rice, James Ward-Prowse, Harry Winks, Harry Kane, Jesse Lingard, Marcus Rashford, Nathan Redmond, Jadon Sancho, Raheem Sterling, Callum Wilson.
