Luke Shaw makes Manchester United trophy promise ahead of Euro 2020 final

Luke Shaw has vowed to push his Manchester United teammates in the quest to end their trophy drought as England aim to win the European Championship.

Shaw has enjoyed a stellar Euros and is a certainty to start in Sunday's final against Italy, having been voted the United players' player of the year and named in the Premier League team of the year.

The 25-year-old played for England for the first time in two-and-a-half years in March and has been nursing a wrist injury throughout the Championship.

Shaw has overcome from significant setbacks in his United career, having encountered Louis van Gaal and Jose Mourinho's forthright management, and recovered from a double leg break in 2015.

"I lived in Kingston and went to numerous different clubs, didn't get in so I went to Southampton and look where I am now," Shaw says in a video promo for a sponsor.

"Mentally, you have to be very strong. People might not want to say it, but it does affect them, I thought I can just get through it by myself and, in the end, when I did speak about it, I felt so much better for it.

"And I always look towards the end goal and that was to get back fit and play for Manchester United. Hard work and determination is one of the first things you should have. I've got even more of that from what I've been through.

"I want to keep pushing myself and keep pushing my teammates because we all want the same things and that's trophies. The only way that's possible is if we keep pushing each other each day.

"Being called back into the squad after that amount of time out was very satisfying. Us, as a country, we need to give ourselves every possible chance of winning it. The confidence and belief is definitely there that we can do something special this summer.

"I can't even imagine if we won it. That's what our aim is, and the celebrations would be absolutely wild."
