Luke Shaw explains Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's impact on his Manchester United form

Luke Shaw has praised Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's man-management style that has helped to draw the best out of him.

The Manchester United left-back has emerged as one of the club's most important players this season and is arguably in the best form of his career.

While Jose Mourinho opted for a 'tough love' approach with Shaw that didn't reap rewards, Solskjaer has opted for a softer approach, which is bearing fruit for United.

Shaw has firmly established himself as United's first-choice left-back following the arrival of Alex Telles last year and he praised Solskjaer for his impact.

“Ole’s style is benefitting the most that I’ve had in a while. His man-management is second to none, he’s really good and I feel like he knows exactly what he needs to do to get the best out of the players," Shaw told BBC Sport. “I can be a mix. Of course, it’s always nice to have an arm around a shoulder, I’d be lying if I say it doesn’t make you feel better, but it’s just the confidence and the belief that the manager has shown in me that’s pushed me onto another level.

"There’s still much more to come and I’m still quite young, so I still have time to improve. I want to keep improving and hopefully become a top player.”
