Luke Perry's final Riverdale episode to air almost two months after actor's death

Luke Perry's final Riverdale episode will air this week, almost two months after the actor's death.

The series's creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa announced on Twitter that the episode airing on Wednesday would be the final one Perry taped.

Perry died on 4 March this year after suffering a massive stroke.

The 90210 alum played Fred Andrews, Archie Andrews's father, on The CW's Riverdale.

"This week’s Riverdale is the last episode Luke filmed. As always, Fred’s imparting words of wisdom to Archie," Aguirre-Sacasa wrote on Twitter.

He added: "A beautiful, true moment between a father and his son. Wish these scenes could go on forever..."

Perry rose to fame as Dylan McKay in Beverly Hills 90210, which ran from 1990 to 2000.

His recent role on Riverdale has earned him fans across generations.

Riverdale is currently in its third season. Perry's final episode is titled Chapter Fifty-Four: Fear the Reaper.

The teen drama has been renewed for a fourth season.
