Luke 'Ming' Flanagan says Twitter account was hacked after late night Saoirse McHugh comment

Luke ‘Ming’ Flanagan has said his Twitter account was hacked after a late night comment appeared on his account about naked photos of a former Green Party candidate.

The tweet was about Saoirse McHugh and the Independent TD has said his account has been compromised.

The tweet was posted at 2.50am Monday morning and read “Sapirse mchugh photo skinnydipping.”

The tweet has since been deleted but screengrabs have circulated on social media.

Mr Flanagan addressed the tweet this afternoon and said he believes his “account was compromised” by “nasty people”.

He tweeted: “Have just changed my password. I believe my account was compromised.

“I am contacting to Twitter to establish what has happened.

“Some nasty people out there.

“Mind yourselves.”

It’s possible that the tweet may have been in reference to photos of Ms McHugh swimming which have previously appeared in the Guardian newspaper.

Ms McHugh is reported to have been in contact with Mr Flanagan after he contacted her to make her aware of the issues and said she believes his explanation.
