Luke Jobson missing: Police find body in river in search for 22-year-old missing after night out in Teesside

Missing: Luke Jobson (Picture: PA)

Police searching for 22-year-old Luke Jobson who went missing after a night out in Teesside have found a body.

He went missing on Saturday night after allegedly being "chased by five lads" outside a pub in Yarm, Teesside.

But on Monday, Police said they had found a body and have notified Luke's family. The body has not yet been identified.

A Cleveland Police spokesman said: "Police searching for missing 22-year-old Luke Jobson have sadly found a body in the river at Yarm this afternoon.

"Although formal identification has yet to take place, Luke’s family has been notified and they are being kept updated while they receive support from specially trained officers."

Three teenagers, two aged 16, and another aged 18, came forward and are due to be interviewed in relation to the inquiry.

It is believed that Mr Jobson could have been involved in an altercation outside the Keys pub, and police have appealed for any dashcam footage from the night.

He was last seen near Yarm School at 2.15am on Saturday.

The force urged members of the public to stay away from their official search sites, which were being managed by specially trained officers, and reminded people hoping to help that Yarm School was private property.

Mr Jobson's family asked for help in tracing him over the weekend and an appeal on Facebook has been shared more than 60,000 times.
