Match of the Day pundit Jermaine Jenas has singled out Luke Ayling for praise after his stellar performances for Leeds United in the Premier League this season.
The Whites have excelled since their return to the top-flight, taking 10 points from their opening six matches - only suffering defeats against Liverpool and Wolves.
A number of players have stood out, including Patrick Bamford following his hat-trick against Aston Villa on Friday night, while Marcelo Bielsa's overall style of play has attracted plenty of plaudits.
Now, former Tottenham and Newcastle United midfielder Jenas has singled out Ayling for specific praise after his contributions to the side this season.
“It’s important we mention for Leeds, Luke Ayling playing centre-half for them yesterday, he’s played all over the place, the way they move things around and maintain that level of performance. It’s a great start to the season," he told BBC Match of the Day.
Ayling has been a mainstay in Bielsa's side so far this season, featuring in all six Premier League matches in a variety of positions.
Bielsa himself praised Ayling after the win against Aston Villa, as he said: " He was quick, he was agile. He defended well, he headed well. He used the ball well and he transmitted serenity to the rest of the team.”
Leeds are back in action next Monday against Leicester City in the Premier League, before facing Crystal Palace, Arsenal and Everton.
The Whites sit fourth in the Premier League at the time of writing, though they could be overtaken by a number of sides following the remaining fixtures of the game week.
