Luke Ayling reveals the savage Leeds United response to their FIFA 21 ratings

Luke Ayling says he does not take any prisoners when it comes to Leeds United's player ratings on FIFA.

The new FIFA 21 was released this week, prompting plenty of debate among players as to whether their rating is accurate or not.

With a rating of 75, Ayling has escaped the wrath of his Whites teammates, with just four players in the squad having a higher rank than him.

Kalvin Phillips, Robin Koch and Diego Llorente have all been given a rating of 76, with Rodrigo head of the pack on 82.

Whilst Ayling was unimpressed with his rating of 51 for shooting after netting four goals in the Championship last season, the defender admits he was satisfied overall with what he was given.

Speaking to BBC Radio Yorkshire, Ayling revealed that was not the case for some other members of the squad, though.

The 29-year-old admitted he will sometimes hope his teammates are given a lower rating than they expected in order to rub it in during training.

He said: “I am very pleased, I think I was top three (for ratings) so very pleased with that.

“There were many boys not happy with their ratings - there were a few low ratings for things that the boys weren’t happy about.

“All in all, I was happy with mine.

“Shooting’s a bit low after last year but we’ll take that, people from EA haven’t seen my shooting from last year yet.”

He added: “Every year it’s quite a big build-up to that first day when the ratings get released.

“You just hope a few people are a lot lower than what they thought so you can pick them out for the whole day about their FIFA ranking.”

FIFA 21 is out now on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.

Additionally, fans who jump into FIFA 21 can also benefit from Dual Entitlement, enabling them to upgrade their copy of the game from PlayStation 4 to PlayStation 5, or Xbox One to Xbox Series X/S at no extra cost.

All progress made or content acquired within FIFA 21 Ultimate Team (including players, items, coins, FIFA Points, match record, and leaderboard placement), as well as all progression in VOLTA FOOTBALL will transfer over to PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X/S.
