Luke Ayling reveals the change he has seen in Patrick Bamford at Leeds United in Premier League

Luke Ayling says Leeds United's squad are not surprised by how well Patrick Bamford has done in the Premier League this season.

The forward has been one of the most in-form strikers in the division this season, with his 12 goals ranking as the third-highest in the top tier.

After netting against Leicester City and Crystal Palace, Bamford has two goals in three games and the 27-year-old is fully repaying Marcelo Bielsa's faith in him after some criticism over the number of chances he missed in the Championship.

Speaking to BBC Yorkshire, Ayling joked he had no issues facing Bamford in training but said the whole of the Whites squad are delighted by the striker proving the doubters wrong.

"Nah, he's easy to play against, Ayling laughed.

"Us boys inside the changing room know he's got the quality and know he can score goals.

"The last few seasons, he might have missed chances, but name me a striker that won't miss chances.

"I think it was so out there as we made so many chances in the Championship, and there were probably some times we made too many chances, so Pat thought it'd be fine if he doesn't score as he'd get another one.

"Now he knows he might not get another one so you're seeing the quality he's got. He's scored some great goals, he scored a great poacher's one the other day where the keeper saved it and he's first onto it.

"I think, if you asked him, they're the ones he enjoys the most as he's just alive in the box to it.

"The boys are so happy for him as he's taken stick over his whole career, really, that maybe he's too nice or whatever, so for him to score 12 goals, it's brilliant."
