Luke Ayling makes admission about Leeds after their home loss to Wolves

Luke Ayling claims Leeds still have their Premier League L-plates up.

Leeds lost at home to Wolves because they failed to turn their first-half domination into goals and Ayling says they are still learning on their return to the big time.

“I think we’re still learning,” said the Leeds defender. “We’re only five games into a new season and I think we’ve learnt we need to take our chances when they come along.

“I think we started slow in the second half. You can’t afford to do that in the Premier League and we got punished.

“It’s a little lesson learnt, but we can’t sit around and dwell on it for too long, we’ve got a game on Friday now. It’s a very quick turnaround, which is nice, and we’ll put it to bed and move on.”

Leeds’ profligacy is nothing new, but they are discovering they can’t get away with missing chances in the Premier League like they did in the Championship.

Stuart Dallas agreed that Leeds must be more clinical and says they have to respond when they make the testing trip to face early league leaders Aston Villa on Friday.

“When you’re playing teams like this you’ve got to capitalise when you’re on top and we didn’t do that,” said the Northern Ireland international.

“You learn in every game no matter what level you’re playing at, you continue to learn and we can take a lot from this.

“We’re four or five games into the season now. We came into this game looking to win it. We couldn’t do that and now we’ve got to bounce back on Friday against a team flying high in the table, full of confidence and playing really well.”
