Lukas Podolski remains a popular figure among Arsenal fans from his time in north London.
And the former German international has got Gunners fans talking today (Thursday) with a social media post that has delighted plenty of them.
The 34-year-old, who played for the Gunners between 2012 and 2015, is now plying his trade in Japan with Vissel Kobe, where he has been since 2017.
Podolski, who scored 31 times in 82 games for the Gunners, has netted 14 goals in 52 appearances for the J1 League side, although he has not featured recently due to injury.
But he returned to the Vissel Kobe squad for their Emperor's Cup clash with Kawasaki Frontale yesterday, with Podolski coming off the bench as his side won 3-2 in the fourth round tie.
In doing so, he featured for the first time alongside former Arsenal defender Thomas Vermaelen, who joined Vissel Kobe in July.
Vermaelen has since played four times for Vissel Kobe, but playing in the same team as Podolski prompted a post from the forward, which has gone down well with Arsenal fans.
To mark the occasion, Podolski took to social networking website Twitter to post a picture with Vermaelen, accompanied by the words: "Two Gunners in Japan! #LondonisRed"
Understandably, the post has attracted plenty of responses from Arsenal fans, with many loving Podolski's message, as can be seen below.
