Luka Milivojevic picks out the Crystal Palace player who changed the game against Newcastle

Crystal Palace goalscorer Luka Milivojevic believes Christian Benteke changed the game during the 1-0 win over Newcastle on Saturday.

Milivojevic's 81st minute goal from the penalty spot proved to be decisive as the Eagles left Tyneside with all three points.

Rafa Benitez's side remain seven points clear of the relegation zone after failing to find the one win Benitez believes is required to guarantee Premier League survival.

And despite Milivojevic netting the goal that ultimately led to Newcastle's demise, it was the introduction of Benteke - who replaced Michy Batshuayi in the 64th minute - that the Serbian international believes tipped the scales in the Eagles' favour.

He told Crystal Palace's official website: "I think Christian Benteke when he came on made the difference in my opinion, especially from the goal kicks: we started to compete in the second half with Christian. From that we tried to create and tried to find some space."

Milivojevic took his tally to the season to 11 goals yesterday - 10 of which have come from the penalty spot.

"There is no secret. When one team has as many penalties as we have, that doesn’t come by accident. We have a lot of quality up front, very skilful players. I score a lot of goals which is very important, that you have a player who is constantly scoring the penalties when they happen.

"This season we’ve had a lot, last season we had a lot. We have a lot of pace and skill up front. In the end, I must say I scored the penalty but all credit to Wilfried."
