Luka Milivojevic out of Scotland duel as Covid curse strikes Serbia in massive Steve Clarke boost

Serbia have been rocked with a huge setback only hours before taking on Scotland with the news Luka Milivojevic is OUT of the Belgrade showdown due to Covid-19.

The Crystal Palace captain will not feature in tonight’s Euro 2020 playoff after testing positive for the virus.

The blow comes just days after the Serbs beat the system to get the likes of Serie A superstar Sergej Milinkovic-Savic out of Italy and back in their homeland for the date with destiny.

The Balkan side were left stunned after being told Milivojevic, 29, tested positive after arriving in the home camp. He took a further test yesterday which was also positive.

The midfielder, who has 38 caps for his country, was ordered home last night and will self-isolate for 14 days in his homeland and play no part against Steve Clarke 's side.

Palace ace Milivojevic is an important member of the Serbian squad and played in two of their three World Cup games in Russia against Costa Rica and Switzerland.

It's the latest blow for Milivojevic after he was sent off playing for Palace against Wolves last month for a foul on Wolves' Joao Moutinho in just his second game of the season.

Serbia faced a sweat to get their Serie A-based players to Belgrade for the game after a crackdown by Italian health authorities, but they are all available against the Scots.

But experienced playmaker Milivojevic won't now be available in the crunch encounter tonight.
