Luka Doncic to Undergo MRI After Exiting Game vs. Pelicans

The Mavericks were hit with an injury scare on Wednesday night after Luka Dončić exited their game against the Pelicans in the second half. Dončić did not return to the contest, ailed by what Dallas described as a left thigh strain

After the game, which the Mavs ended up losing 113–106, Dončić revealed that he intends to get an MRI on his left thigh. Via Andrew Lopez of ESPN, the 24-year-old was asked how he felt after the game, to which Dončić replied, "not good."

The Mavericks star logged 28 minutes in the game before making his early departure. He had 15 points, eight assists, and three rebounds, but struggled to find his shot, shooting 4-of-14 from the field and 1-of-5 from three-point territory.

Dončić was subbed out with just over two minutes remaining in the third quarter on Wednesday night, and did not check back into the contest.

The superstar has been dealing with the injury for a while now, having spoken about the ailment after the game against the Suns over the weekend, at which point he said, "I just try to keep going."

Dallas is next slated to play on Saturday, March 11, against the Grizzlies. By then, fans should have an update on the injury to the four-time All-Star.
