Luka Doncic shows off soccer skills with an absolutely ridiculous first touch vs. Spurs

With Steve Nash now working as a coach and not a player, we may have a new soccer king of the NBA in Luka Doncic, who produced an absolute moment of magic against the San Antonio Spurs.

Yes I know my headline is a little misleading, and maybe got people to think Luka Doncic played against Tottenham Hotspur. Well, ha! Tricked!

This play happened against the Spurs on Friday night, while Doncic was on the bench. As the third quarter ended, the Spurs’ Keldon Johnson heaved a shot from inside his own half. Doncic, watching from the sideline, anticipated the ball’s flight, made a run to where it was going to land, and then took a first touch that I’m absolutely flabbergasted by.

Yes, it’s a basketball, and the weight of it gives him a slight advantage, but I don’t care. It’s Bergkamp-esque.

The four juggles after it? Fine. But to have that control on a heaved ball, then be able to keep the ball up after that? That’s a real soccer player right there. That’s something to applaud.
