Laxman Utekar's father passed away due to a heart attack on May 1. He was 95.
Utekar is known for his Bollywood films namely 'Mimi' and 'Luka Chuppi', and is working on a few more projects that are lined up for release this year.
A source close to the director informed ETimes that the entire Utekar family along with their relatives are currently in Poladpur (Maharashtra). Moreover, other close friends from the film fraternity are expected to be present for the prayer meeting that will be held on the 10th and 12th of this month. Laxman's father stayed at Poladpur, which is their native place.
On the work front, Laxman Utekar has directed Dinesh Vijan's rom-com starring Sara Ali Khan and Vicky Kaushal, which is set to release on June 2, 2023. He will also direct a historical film based on the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, featuring Vicky Kaushal in the titular role.
