Luiz taming Warnock & those Frank Lampard chants - Moments missed from Chelsea win at Cardiff

David Luiz tames Neil Warnock

Cardiff City boss Neil Warnock was obviously furious after Chelsea's 2-1 win against his side yesterday and he made his feelings perfectly clear with the officials.

The Bluebirds manager stormed into the centre-circle at the full-time whistle, after shaking hands with Maurizio Sarri, and had something of a staring contest with referee Craig Pawson and his officials.

He also dragged a couple of his own players away from the men in black, while there were some Chelsea players who went up to Warnock as well.

It seemed that Warnock had a bit of a go at David Luiz, however the Brazilian was able to tame the Cardiff boss and they ended up with an embrace as the Cardiff boss calmed down slightly.

Neil Warnock shocked by the bizarre thing Maurizio Sarri complained about in Chelsea victory

Rudiger’s awful shot

The game at the Cardiff City Stadium could have been one of the worst Chelsea have played all season, despite getting three points at the end of it.

There was a moment in the first 18 minutes that really summed up just how poor the match really was though when Antonio Rudiger brought the ball out from the back.

Sarri wrong over Chelsea fans & Higuain a huge issue – Talking points from Cardiff win

The German international has a bit of previous from having a decent shot from range, smashing one against the bar last season, however when he tried it again from 35 yards out yesterday it didn't quite have the same impact.

Instead the centre-back's effort went well, well wide of the goal and it summed up what was a lacklustre display from the Blues.

Alonso's sign to Higuain

Gonzalo Higuain did not have a good game for Chelsea, once again, as the Argentine looked so off the pace and hardly got himself in the box whatsoever.

From someone who was once considered one of the best strikers in the world, the 31-year-old is a far reach away from that right now and the Blues are missing that key man up front.

There was a key moment in the game which showed his lack of confidence, as Marcos Alonso picked up the ball in the left channel. The Spaniard had a great chance to cross, but Higuain was nowhere near the right position.

Alonso had to wave the Argentine forward to get him to make the run, which then didn't happen and so the left-back had to recycle the ball backwards and a good chance went begging.

Those Lampard chants

Chelsea fans have started to turn on Maurizio Sarri over the last couple of weeks and that intensified during the win at Cardiff City.

However, probably the most revealing one came straight after the words 'F**k Sarri-ball' emanated from the away end.

Chelsea fans often sing 'Super Frank Lampard', however this time it felt more like the supporters wanted to make it a reminder to the board that they want him as their new boss.

Lampard is at Derby County right now, but he has been linked with Chelsea for some time this season and Blues fans made their wishes clear.
