EastEnders star Luisa Bradshaw-White reveals she 'came out as gay by accident'

EastEnders star Luisa Bradshaw-White opened up about how she accidentally "came out as gay".

The actress - who has been married to wife Annette Yeo since 2015 - never thought about the fact she could be gay when she was younger.

It took a conversation with friends before she accidentally blurted it out.

"The realisation came when I was around 19 and talking with some new friends," she revealed in Metro.co.uk.

"They both said they liked women and without thinking, I replied, ‘Ooh yes, me too!’. I sort of gasped as it was the first time I had even considered that I might not be straight."

The Holby City actress went on to reminisce about all the fun times she had with her pals after coming out.

"It’s crazy that a fleeting conversation with new friends could have had such an impact on my life and I got the best introduction to being a gay person you could ask for," she added.

"I had huge amounts of fun. While I was out to have a good time, I knew almost instantly after coming out that all I wanted was to find my true love, settle down and have a family."

Luisa recently paid tribute to her wife Annette on Lesbian Visibility Week in April.

The actress shared two sweet snaps of the couple on Instagram.

The first snap had Luisa and Annette beaming with joy as they stood by a waterfall.

Another picture saw the two with their arms around one another while they donned matching ‘I [love] my wife’ t-shirts.

"Happy #lesbianvisibilityweek," Luisa, 45, captioned the post. "Girls we are so special we get a WHOLE WEEK!

"For those of you who don’t know…I have been with my wife @annette.yeofor 21 years.

"We have two teenager daughters. We are a very happy family. Live your truth."
