Luis Suarez reacts to Liverpool's Champions League comeback against Barcelona

Barcelona star Luis Suarez endured a miserable Anfield return as his side were stunned by Liverpool on an unforgettable night.

Suarez, who received a hostile reception from the Reds crowd after his first-half antics, was left scratching his head after his side were dumped out of the Champions League 4-3 on aggregate.

The Uruguayan insists the players must shoulder the blame for their Merseyside capitulation as they failed to make their experience count.

The striker questioned the attitude of their side when speaking to Spanish reporters after the game - and branded Liverpool's all-important fourth goal from a quickly taken corner as the sort of goal seen in junior football.

"I think we have to do a lot of self-criticism, we are adults, we have many years in this category," Suarez said.

"We must reproach ourselves for things that we have done wrong, like thinking that everything was liquidated.

"We should not blame the coach, we are the players who play.

"I do not know if it's a matter of attitude, but we're in Barcelona , we can not get two goals in a row.

"The fourth is a goal by kids."

Liverpool fans furious with Luis Suarez for 'injuring Andy Robertson'

It is the second straight year Barcelona have been dumped out of the Champions League after letting a big lead slip.

They were 4-1 up after the first leg against Roma in last year's quarter-finals only to lose out on away goals after a 3-0 second leg defeat.

It was a familiar tale at Anfield leaving Suarez frustrated as jubilant scenes spread around Anfield on a historic evening.

Suarez also angered fans after a clash with Andy Robertson in the first half which led to the defender being forced off through injury at half-time.

The duo appeared to have a slight off-the-ball coming together, with BT Sport commentator Steve McManaman suggesting Suarez may have "left something on" Robertson.
