Former Liverpool striker Luis Suarez believes Erling Haaland is better than Kylian Mbappe.
There has been plenty of talk in recent weeks of the two frontmen taking the baton from Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo in terms of the conversation around the best players in the world.
Haaland has 33 goals in 31 appearances for Borussia Dortmund this season, but he is not just a one-season wonder.
He has a total of 88 goals in 111 games for Dortmund, Red Bull Salzburg and Molde combined in the last three seasons and as a result is one of the hottest properties in European football.
Mbappe, on the other hand, has been talked up as a generational talent for a few years now.
The Frenchman has 28 goals in 34 appearances for Paris Saint-Germain this season, which bring his career total to 147 goals in 205 games for PSG and Monaco combined.
Both players have been linked with moves away from Dortmund and PSG this summer, with the biggest Premier League and La Liga clubs sniffing around the duo.
Haaland has been heavily linked with a move to Chelsea, with the Norwegian hitman thought to be Thomas Tuchel's number one priority when the summer transfer window opens.
Haaland, who has a £64million release clause that comes into effect in the summer of 2022, could be sold for a greater price this summer, although he has admitted he is not thinking about a move.
"I still have three years of contract. I am not upset about that," he said at a press conference whilst away on international duty with Norway, as per Cope.
Suarez, who plays for Atletico Madrid - the team Chelsea knocked out of the Champions League last week - has delivered his verdict on Haaland and the battle with Mbappe.
Speaking to Marca, he said: "He is a great player, he is at a spectacular level. He has an admirable physical power. He is one of the best nines in the world that will mark an era."
And when asked about Mbappe or Haaland being better, he added: "A little more for Haaland, but Mbappé is at a very high level."
