Luis Suarez injury: Barcelona striker out for three weeks with calf problem

Barcelona striker Luis Suarez is set to be sidelined for the next three weeks after picking up a calf injury in Saturday's 3-1 defeat away to Levante.

Suarez was caught on the calf by Levante defender Carlos Clerc and was substituted late in the first half at the Ciutat de Valencia.

"Tests carried out have shown that Luis Suarez has a right calf injury," Barcelona said in a statement on their website.

"Therefore, he is presently not available for selection and his recovery will dictate his return to action."

The Uruguayan is expected to be out for around three weeks, meaning he will defintely miss Barca's Champions League clash against Slavia Prague at Camp Nou and also next weekend's La Liga game at home to Celta Vigo.

An international break follows and the 32-year-old is likely to be unavailable for Uruguay's friendlies against Hungary and Argentina, but he could be back for Barca's trip to Leganes on November 23.
