Delighted Luis Suarez has saluted his former Liverpool pal Steven Gerrard after the pair savoured title glory last season.
The Uruguayan's former Kop skipper guided Rangers to the earliest title win in Scottish football history as he also toasted success with Atletico Madrid - 10 months after being ditched by Barcelona.
The deadly duo were brilliant during their time together at Anfield and Suarez admits he's not surprised in the slightest by his mate's success since taking the reins at Ibrox.
And the 34-year-old is certain Gerrard's managerial journey will lead him back to Anfield at some stage of his career.
Speaking to World Soccer Magazine, he said: "I think Stevie is doing just fine without me! I am pleased but not at all surprised to see him win the league with Rangers.
"Winning is what he does and at some point in the future I am sure he will be at Liverpool again."
Suarez himself admits the ties that bind him to Merseyside means it was always a long shot that he would make a return to the Premier League for another team.
And the Atleti hero admits watching their return to prominence in recent years has been a joy for him after many years in the wilderness.
He added: "Playing for any team other than Liverpool in England would be hard.
"I had, and hope I still do have, such a good relationship with Liverpool fans that it would be strange for me to play for somebody else.
"It would have been special to win the league with Liverpool, but I am glad that their wait is now over.
"They look like a team that will compete for many seasons to come even if this one has not been the best for them. They are back where they belong."
