Luis Suarez drops major hint on future as he admits he "would like" USA move

Luis Suarez has revealed his desire to play in the USA before his career ends as he plots his next move.

The striker moved from Barcelona to Atletico Madrid in the summer and could lead them to the La Liga title.

Suarez has spent the last decade playing for some of Europe's top sides and is still performing at a high level.

A Liverpool return has been touted as the Reds prepare for a potential reshuffle in attack.

But the Uruguayan has talked up a switch to the MLS which is becoming increasingly an popular move for players

He told Marca: "Two years ago, when I played for Barcelona, I would have told you there, but then circumstances arise.

"Now that I am here and I am happy, you consider playing for a couple more years, continuing to demonstrate and then, when the time comes, you have another option and you have to make decisions.

"Actually, it is difficult. I would like to have the experience of being able to play in the United States, but you never know."

Suarez has scored 19 times this term for the Spanish side.

Last year he netted 21 times for a Barcelona side who finished the season trophyless and suffered a humiliating 8-2 defeat against Bayern Munich.

The 34-year-old was heavily criticised with some questioning whether he could still cut in at the top.

But Suarez believes that provided all the motivation he netted before he opted to make the move to Atletico.

"You like challenges and coming here was a very big challenge for me for many things," he added.

"Last year I received criticism and they said I was not there to compete for important things, or that in Barcelona he couldn't compete at a high level.

"That creates a challenge for you at the individual level that makes you want to continue showing that you are among the elite of football for a reason."
