Luis Perez put on a show in AAF debut, had Twitter buzzing

The Los Angeles Rams decided to move on from undrafted free agent Luis Perez before the season started, but they might want to give him another shot. Perez made his debut in the Alliance of American Football on Sunday for the Birmingham Iron and put on a show.

He threw for 252 yards and while he didn’t score any touchdowns, he led the Iron to a 26-0 win in their first-ever game.

Perez made clutch throw after clutch throw, outplaying his quarterback counterpart, Christian Hackenberg, by a mile. Here’s a look at some of his best plays of the day.

Of course, Perez wasn’t facing an NFL-caliber defense, but he looked far better than he did in his limited preseason action last year. Considering the numbers he put up at Texas A&M-Commerce, it’s easy to see why he’d succeed in the AAF.

He had Twitter buzzing about his NFL potential, too.

With Sean Mannion hitting free agency, the Rams might want to think about giving Perez another NFL contract.
