Tottenham and Manchester United have seen the door towards landing Portuguese mastermind Luis Campos opened for them as he is keen for his contract with Lille to be cancelled.
French outlet RMC is reporting that Campos has requested for his contract with the Ligue 1 side to end after becoming unhappy that he has not been consulted about key decisions recently.
Campos is not tied down to a normal contract with the French side and is instead employed as a 'consultant', with the club having an agreement with his company.
That deal still has three years left to run but, following a series of recent events that have left Campos unhappy, similar to what saw him leave Monaco in 2016.
That could be music to the ears of Tottenham and Manchester United, both of whom would benefit from his guidance and have been linked with his services previously.
Campos has a close relationship with his compatriot Jose Mourinho, who he worked with at Real Madrid, and has previously spoken about his desire for a reunion with the experienced manager.
Speaking to Sky Sports in October, he said: Mourinho is like a brother to me. I know him very well and for a long time. He’s a wonderful person and the best coach in the world. So, of course, if he called me I would speak."
However, he has also been linked with a move to Manchester United, who understood to be looking for somebody to oversee their transfer strategy.
Both Premier League sides will likely keep a close eye on these developments and it could lead to Campos moving to English football, something that has been rumoured for some time.
