Luis Boa Morte sends message to Everton fans after Marco Silva sacking

Former Everton assistant manager Luis Boa Morte has taken to Instagram to thank all involved with the club.

The former Fulham winger was sacked alongside manager Marco Silva on Thursday night, after the pair oversaw a run of eight defeats in Everton's last 11 games, culminating with a 5-2 thrashing at the hands of Liverpool on Wednesday night.

Boa Morte only joined the club in the summer, recruited by Silva after the departure of long-serving No. 2 Pedro Sousa.

But despite his short stay, the 42-year-old has wished the club well for the future as well as thanking the fans for the welcome he received.

“I want to thank all the players for their effort and hard work,” the Portuguese wrote.

“A massive thank you to all the departments at Everton FC included the board for all the support and collaboration during our stay.

“To the fans thank you for the great welcome @ Goodison and all the effort and commitment you showed home and away when supporting the team and Everton FC.

“All the best in the future. Luis Boa Morte.”
