Lufthansa Technik's new SkyRetreat private jet concept looks like a luxury yacht

With Lufthansa Technik’s new SkyRetreat design, you could be traveling by air or by sea.

Lufthansa Technik (the airline’s elite design department) has unveiled a new interior concept for a private VIP aircraft.

“Our SkyRetreat concept makes optimum use of this spacious cabin,” says Lufthansa Technik’s senior director of VIP sales Wieland Timm, “and its technical features will provide our customers with a whole new sense of space and a unique travel experience.”

The SkyRetreat concept appears more like the interior of a yacht than an aeroplane, with wood-panel flooring and white L-shaped couches for seating. The luxury cabin design also allows for rugs, table lamps and a wall picturing a woodland landscape to make guests feel relaxed.

For wealthy VIPs opting to fly via on this ultra-luxe Airbus A220, the private plane space will also have twin beds with added drawer space underneath for extra storage. Entertainment will come from a 4k TV that pops out of a side compartment for communal use.

The SkyRetreat concept will be unveiled in full at the Monaco Yacht Show this September.
