Lucy & Yak opens Bristol store today - full address and opening times

Popular clothes store Lucy & Yak is opening a brightly-coloured branch in Bristol today (Saturday, March 26). The brand, best-known for its dungarees, has a huge following online and this will be its first ever pop-up.

The shop provides a communal space where the mission involves local artists and makers inspiring and encouraging people to shop better and to repurpose, recycle, and repair their clothes. And until April 19 the store is also hosting a schedule of workshops and events.

Bristol & Yak is located in the heart of Stokes Croft, surrounded by independent businesses and vibrant eclectic street art. Inspired by their new neighbours, the pop-up has commissioned local artists to create their own murals for the space.

The brand's latest organic dungarees and designs sit alongside their popular (Im) Perfect Yaks (items with slight imperfections that are still perfectly wearable), while Bristol-based We Are Hairy People will be showcasing their hand-painted creations. Customers can even drop off their old Lucy & Yak items in return for vouchers to spend in store.

Doors opened at 10am at Bristol & Yak, which is at 11-13 Stokes Croft. It is unmissable as the shop front is covered with a brightly-coloured abstract mural painted by artist Molly Hawkins.

A small queue of eager customers were pictured waiting outside as the shop opened its doors this morning. The pop-up doubles up as a shop and an event space, with a number of workshops and performances planned throughout the month – everything from ‘Re:Yak’ repair workshops through to comedy with rising local star Abi Clarke.
