Lucy Mecklenburgh has opened up to fans after having a terrifying scare with her baby daughter. The former The Only Way is Essex star says she rushed her two-month-old little girl, Lilah Rae, to the hospital after she developed a high temperature.
Taking to social media, she shared how her daughter wasn't "coping well" after catching a cough from her older brother Roman, two, and was left "choking on milk and saliva".
Taking to her Instagram stories, Lucy posted a photo of her baby girl, who she shares with former Coronation Street star Ryan Thomas, with a tube attached to her face as she lay sleeping. Over the image, she told her 1.7million followers: "Lots of messages asking where I've been for 5 days.
"Unfortunately Lilah got really poorly with Bronchiolitis so we have had a few days in hospital She is home now and doing well I'm obviously not in any position to give medical advice but this is our experience for parents that may want to know what happened & what to look out for."
The worried mum-of-two, 30, explained that first-born Roman came down with a "really bad cough", which she presumed he picked up from preschool. "Lilah caught it and 3 days in she wasn't coping with it very well, tummy sucking in, cough getting worse, high temperature, coughing & choking on milk and her saliva," she went on to explain.
She said the little Lilah was then given oxygen and "was tube fed for a couple of days," before getting a nose swab which led to her testing positive for respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) which Lucy said causes Bronchiolitis. Lucy ended her post by saying the tot is "home & happy now just a little sleepy & still has a bad cough."
Lucy and ex-Corrie actor Ryan announced that they had welcomed their second child on May 31. The loved-up couple announced they were expecting again in November and in February they revealed they were awaiting the arrival of a daughter. But it wasn't until mid-June that Lucy and Ryan, 38, revealed the name of their second child after finally settling on what to call their new bundle of joy.
Lucy shared it on Instagram with a sweet photo of her daughter appearing to smile for the camera with the caption: "Yay!! I finally have a name!!! Lilah Rae Thomas." Her Instagram followers rushed to tell her they love the name.
Lucy and Ryan welcomed their first child in March 2020 just before the UK went into lockdown. The pair got engaged in summer 2019 in the Italian cliffside village of Positano on the Amalfi Coast during a romantic trip to Italy, with Roman's middle name Ravello being a nod to the special time.
