Lucy Mecklenburgh begs fans to stay home with heart-melting snap of newborn son

Lucy Mecklenburgh has encouraged fans to remain at home with an adorable picture of her newborn son Roman.

The new mum, 28, shared a tender picture of her baby nestled in between fluffy blankets and turned her attention towards the coronavirus pandemic in her caption.

" #istayhome to protect you," she wrote alongside the snap.

The photo was taken by professional newborn photographer Kristina Mack, who was also tagged in the photograph.

A number of celeb pals have also expressed their hopes of meeting her newborn son soon, as they have been unable to during self-isolation.

Among them was radio presenter Ashley James who wrote: "The cutest. I can't wait to meet him."

The reality star has become the latest in a long line of celebrities that are using the hashtag as part of the I Stay At Home challenge.

As part of the movement, people write a message revealing who they are staying at home to protect during the coronavirus pandemic.

The craze has been sweeping social media in the past few weeks with celebs such as David Beckham and Mariah Carey taking part.

Lucy revealed that she'd given birth to baby Roman, who she shares with her fiancé, Corrie star Ryan Thomas, on March 12.

At the time she revealed that the tot's name was Roman Ravello Thomas.

She has been documenting her journey through motherhood on her social media ever since, although it has coincided with strict self-isolation guidelines across the country.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, she is only able to take Roman for one walk a day in the current circumstances.

Instead, the fitness guru has been keeping her time full with workout routines and exciting cooking challenges.

On March 30, Lucy proudly showed off the homemade banana and peanut butter ice cream and even gave followers tips on how to copy the recipe themselves.
