Lucy Fallon vows to return to Coronation Street after shock resignation

Lucy Fallon admitted she’s sad after announcing she’s quitting Coronation Street - but said we might not have seen the last of her character.

However for now, the actress is excited to see what the future brings.

The 23-year-old opened up about her decision to leave the ITV soap during an exclusive chat with Mirror Online backstage at Radio 1’s Big Weekend in Middlesbrough.

Lucy, who was attending the festival with her boyfriend Tom Leech, told us: “I will be sad but I’m excited to see what’s going to happen in the future, although I have no idea what’s going to happen, it’s quite scary.”

Lucy has played Bethany Platt for almost five years and has had some huge storylines, including a horrific grooming and rape ordeal at the hands of evil Nathan Curtis.

She said she feels it’s the right time to move on from the cobbles.
