Lucy Fallon admits she's on a detox after Corrie's 14-hour days led to takeaways

Coronation Street's Lucy Fallon has revealed she has been taking a "detox" after leaving the show.

The actress, 24, who left the ITV soap in March, has opened up on how her overall health deteriorated during her gruelling filming schedule.

Lucy, who played Bethany Platt's character in Corrie, admitted she began to feel "unhealthy" after routinely turning to takeaways after 14-hour days.

But the star knew something had to change after realising it was a struggle to climb up the stairs.

The actresss has overhauled her lifestyle and she has now embarked on a post-soap detox while she isolates at home amid the coronavirus lockdown.

"It started to take its toll and I could feel it — I'd be out of breath even just climbing the stairs," she explained to The Sun.

"So I've used this change and this downtime to try to get on top of it. It's a bit of a post-Corrie detox.

"I've realised how much I was eating before and how awful that lifestyle actually was."

The soap star revealed she feels happier than ever and she emphasised it's her "priority" was to to "be healthy" again.

However, Lucy also claimed she won't be giving up her favourite takeaway for good.

She jokingly said: "I'm not giving up KFC altogether."

The rising star did point out she doesn't want to become "obsessed" with her appearance and still wants to be "judged" on her acting ability before her looks.

Lucy has been holed up with her boyfriend of four years Tom Leech at their shared Blackpool home in lockdown.
